Benefits of Living in Kensington

Located within the densely populated central part of London is serviced apartments Kensington. It used to be inhabited by low salaried women who worked as secretaries, aspiring actors and storekeepers in the early 1900’s but these days, it is an affluent commercial district. This area now serves as home for London’s rich and famous.

This area is steep in history and is bordered by the famous Notting Hill to the North. In fact the Kensington Palace, the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal College of Music, the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum are just some of its noted attractions. There are still many more for you to find out and discover.

Most of the houses for rent here are Victorian. There are also large houses which are divided into flats or maisonettes and mews. If you have kids, there are many prestigious private schools like the Lycee Francais, Thomas Kensington, Ashbourne Independent College, St.Philip’s, Wetherby School and Queen’s Gate that your children can enrol in. The state ran schools are not just affordable but they are also highly rated like Fox, St. Mary Abbots, St. Barnabas and St. Philips and Oratory RC.

Kensington is within walking distance to well-manicured garden squares, posh restaurants and brand name boutiques like Chanel, Margaret Howell, Ralph Lauren and Nicole Farhi. The main shopping area is found at Kensington High Street. Brompton Cross is also a popular shopping destination.

Getting in and out of Kensington is easy because there are Tube stations servicing the area. The South Kensington is for the Picadilly Line and the Kensington High Street and Gloucester Road for the Circle and District lines.

If you have the money, then Kensington is the place to be. Not only is the location great, the nearby facilities are good for those who are trying to start a family.
